Strength assessment is a critical component of return-to-sport decision-making. Identifying strength deficits, limb asymmetries and force production capacity allows us to objectively determine an athlete's readiness to safely resume training and competition.
Our highly skilled physiotherapists provide a comprehensive assessment using VALD technology including fixed isometric dynamometry, force plate and motion analysis. Having access to this testing equipment in-house allows for timely, accurate assessment and seamless integration of results into your rehabilitation and return-to-sport program.
We assess athletes following a wide range of sporting injuries but this is most commonly used following knee reconstructions, shoulder stabilisation surgery, hip and ankle arthroscopic repairs, tendon ruptures and fractures.
Each athlete completes a thorough performance assessment, with detailed results and recommendations forwarded to their treating physiotherapist and surgeon to support a safe and confident return to sport.
Common testing includes
- Strength assessment
- Rate of force development
- Power assessment
- Plyometric capacity
- Endurance assessment
- Video analysis
